Discussion about the new Exhibition in Stuttgart
Stuttgart 2016

Hi Pierre, hi folks,
thanks for your information, about the Nm-layout planned for the Landquart-show in the Allegra-shed of RhB. Maybe you could add the plan in this thread too.
I think, it is a nice base for Stuttgart 2016. We should turn your Haselstein 180° to have some three connections for further modules (two at Haselstein, one at St.Légier-Gare). A 180°-turn is necessary, to avoid a collision with your control-box at St.Peider. By-the-way: are there enough adaptor-modules available from sNs to NCI- and other module-norms?
I hope to see you at Landquart or Stuttgart again.
Michael

Bis jetzt haben wir erst ein einziges Übergangsmodul im Bestand.
_________________________________________________Till today we only have one transition module.
-
Eine erste, mögliche Variante des Kernlayouts - allerdings noch ohne zu wissen, welchen Platz wir zu Verfügung haben werden.
______________________________________________________Here a first possible version of the Nm-backbone. We don't know yet how much space there will be for us.
-
Pierre,
can you please post the drawing of the "adaptor" module?
Or at least of the "external end" of the sNs normes, I do not know them.
We need adaptors, I can work on it (one adaptor ) if it helps... -
Hi Antonio
The adaptor module is the same as last year. Unfortunately, I can't find a actual picture of ist. Pierre started this thread about it last year.
And yes, please build an adaptor! We can't have enough of them! (This is a call to all of us!)
Best regards
Yves -
By the end of July we should get a first draft of the space available for Nm. Stefan Woerner just confirmed this to me by mail.

Bis Ende Juli sollten wir einen ersten Entwurf des Platzes bekommen, der für Nm vorgesehen ist. Stefan Wörner hat mir dies soeben per Mail zugesagt.
-
I will be in Stuttgart for sure, with some of my modules at our Nm layout's disposal...
-
Hello
Do I understand it right, Pierre: Stefan Wörner will indicate the dimensions an shape of the space we can use for our layout until end of july?
In this case I suggest to meet in august and play around with the drawings of the modules. It always helps if it's not only one person looking at the plan of the layout. And - of course - we will need some help and feedback from our friends here in this forum.
Best regards
Yves -
@ Yves: We will see in Landquart if the backbone is ok. Detailed planning makes sense afterwards. Till then we certainly know the space which is available for us.

You are right about the backbone being tested in Landquart, Pierre. But I think we will need an other configuration of the Backbone in Stuttgart, not only because we need a lot of space for Duncan's Fichtelbergbahn. The question is if we need to discuss the layout for Stuttgart before the exibition in Landquart or if there is enough time after that.
I would prefer having a idea of the layout planned for Stuttgart when we go to Landquart. This would make it possible to discuss possible issues having the backbone modules right in front of us. But this is not absolutely crucial, so let's see if it's possible.

The space reserved for Nm should be 7,3 x 9,7 m, not so bad...

Hello everyone
I have finally taken the time to do some creative work for our layout at Stuttgart. You can see the results attached. The version 0.1 ("Stuttgart2016 V0-1.gif) in sot really possible because of one gap of about 10 cm near Haselstein. In V0.2 and V0.3 is the curve module from Antonio missing. I have not drawn it because I need the exact dimensions first. As end of the branch with the modules from Antonio would be the small station that I brought last year. It's also missing on the draft plans.
Please comment the three drafts!
Thank you and best regards
Yves -
I'd like St. Peider better when all three branches could be used.

kind regards - and good job -
Hello everyone
As Pierre and I weren't very happy about mi draft plans, I decided to continue my creative work. Until now, I made versions up to v0.8, which seems to me quite good. Please help us and comment the plans. I would like to know which you like most and why. Or even why you don't feel able to give some feedbacks.
Best regards

I think the most important thing to foresee, in the layout, is the space beetween the various layout branches - so that visitors can enter and see.
In this spirit I like V.02 and V.06, thanks for your efforts
-
At the moment V0.5 is my favourite. But I would rather set my module "Haselstein" at the end of the branch - behind Antonios modules.

Hello everybody
I just had a discussion by phone with Pierre. Well, in fact he just told me that my 11th plan is the right one.
I think it has many advantages:
- WIlderswil is accessible easily - this is better for Anja Bange's legs.
- All the branches from Sankt Peider are used - this feels less like wasting capacities.
- Saint Légier is used including the two new small modules - this will make ist looking better.
- There is room enough for the public to go to every interesting point of the layout - provided Duncan builds a loop that can replace part 1 of his Fichtelbergbahn.
- All modules available are used.
Maybe we can insert some custom-made module we used last year to make the odd angles of Edgar Huser's modules fit in the layout. This would give some more room between Antonio's modules and the Fichtelbergbahn. We will check that with the owners.
As long as nobody gives his veto, I would like to define this plan as the one we will use for Stuttgart this year. Please comment if you are for or against this layout. If you are not interested at all, well ... leave it.
Best regards
Yves

I just had a call with "Schnurrli". He will provide us with the custom module just mentioned. It is about 17cm long and 40cm wide.
My statement: let's go for this plan!
